So Cal Blog Surf

Well, well, well, isn't this fun? A little blog hop surf!! Many of us So Cal bloggers are teaming up for some beach themed summer fun!

This fun includes FREEBIES at each and every stop and a GIVEAWAY! Four people will ALL win $25 to Teachers Pay Teachers!

I feel like I am cheating just a little bit since I am writing this post from Kentucky...it's true!
I am in Louisville, loving life for the summer.... although I will be home to Orange County in less than a week.

I have lived less than 3 blocks from the beach for the past ten {plus} years....and before you get jealous you must understand that I live in a place as big as shoebox in order for this to be possible.

And although I love it... I really like it when my beach looks like this:
As in signs of life... but not jam packed like it always is in July and August....so it worked out well that I am away for the high season.

On to business.......I am happy to share with you one of my favorite products that just happens to have a beachy-ocean feel to it.

It is my Pattern Block Math Ocean Animal FREEBIE!

You will get 3 ocean pattern block animals plus a recording sheet! Just click on the cover or HERE!

Now if that freebie leaves you wanting more...don't worry...there IS more! There are 10 different animals and they all come in 4 levels of difficulty. This preview doesn't show you all 40, but you get the idea...and recording sheets!!!

Why use pattern blocks in your primary classroom? Well first of all, you will be hitting on some of those Math Common Core Standards {K.G.A.2, K.G.A.3, K.G.B.6, 1.G.A.2 and 1.G.A.3}

The other reason...the more important one.... the kids will LOVE it and it is a math center they can work on independently.

I like to print out the easiest version that has all the lines of every shape {green} and the most difficult version {purple} and glue them back to back on construction paper. Then the kids can choose which one to try... but there are so many ways you can make this work.
Last thing.... if you like these, there is also a Zoo Animal Version of these guys and I am working on two other sets. They should have been done by now... but they aren't. Oh well! These things take a while.

Be sure to follow my Teachers Pay Teachers store so you will know when new sets are available!

Want a $25 dollar gift certificate? You have FOUR chances to win....Enter the giveaway here:

  6. So cool. And I like your idea of the easy version on front, more complex version on back. I will definitely do that. Thank you!!!
