Be Yourself! {freebie!}

Do you ever notice the books in Kohl's? Do you shop there or even have Kohl's in your area?

Well, if you do have Kohl's you need to know that they have $5 hard back books. $5!! They rotate the books in the front, so don't go searching for a book section, you won't find it!  But there are always a couple of titles. Plus, they often have a little stuffed animal to match the book which is also only $5.

What is the BEST part?  100% of the profit goes to children's charities. It is a part of their Kohl's Cares program and it is explained in each book:
So although that does mean that your Kohl's coupon won't work on the book or stuffed animal.....you are
A. Getting a hard back book for $5
B. You are making a donation

So...sounds pretty fair to me!

Here is one of my latest Kohl's book purchase:

And what gets me in Kohl's doors? Because if I am honest, a few years ago I never would set foot in the place... but now I have an obsession for Lauren Conrad's line...I walk straight to her section.... so as a quick side note... here's a new LC sweater:

Okay...so back to the book....

At first I wasn't too thrilled...to see the Peanuts characters...is that mean? I want something that feels so 2013 2014, but then I picked up the book "Be Yourself" and fell in love.

In January when we talk about Martin Luther King, Jr. is also when I touch upon character in general and this book will be a good addition.

It is clearly about being yourself... but also about how we all have different strengths... for example:

So here is a little freebie I will be using when we read this in January.

I am going to use the color page as a cover for a class book and have all my cuties write one thing that makes them UNIQUE, SPECIAL and ONE OF A KIND! {There is a second writing page if you teach older kiddos!}

The only thing is they are running low on this book. Online it says it isn't available... but I was just in Kohl's yesterday {January 2} and they had some copies left.... Also, Walmart sells it too {not as part of charity and it does cost a bit more.}

While in Kohl's yesterday I picked this up:
{again... these are just five bucks a piece... not bad}
I will share a freebie to go with this little guy soon :)

Last thing..... my giveaway just ended for my new snowman unit... Congrats to Doreen and Kristi! Check your email. If you want to check it out just click on it below or HERE:

  5. My kids love those stuffed animals-especially when it's a character they recognize. I didn't see that Peanuts book when I was there, will have to look for it-thanks for sharing! :)
