Doubling the Linky Fun Today!

Today is like a "2 for 1" deal....I'm doing 2 linkies in one post... it's true! Not even sure it is allowed, but it is happening today on the first day of 2014!

First up... I'm linking up for Farley's Currently....

We got the Rose Parade on in the background while I recount a funny new year's story for you.

My hubby and I walked downtown to a restaurant last night for the big "NYE" and we got home around 11pm....and for some reason our key didn't work. We had the key, but nope, we weren't getting in.

Luckily, our neighbors have a key to our place, but they weren't home.

Once again...luckily, we are in California and the outside temp wasn't too bad. I'm going with another "luckily" which is that we had access to our wifi and we played a little Pandora and downloaded an app about constellations which was actually really fun!

So the clock struck midnight and we were on our patio, listening to music and looking at stars. Not too bad.... but not what I had envisioned.

The neighbors were back about 12:45 and there you have it.... a recap of my New Year's Eve.

Skipping down to "needing" well.... now is the time I should be making resolutions, but you know, I am possibly just going to skip that this year.

As you can also note in my Currently... I am not that good at keeping them.

I will go so far as to say it is my "tradition" to break any resolution before January is over.

And although I am a big fan of reflecting on life and asking yourself what do you need more of or less of, or what will help bring a smile to your face.... I am not sure resolutions are the way forward... for me, at least.

That being said, I want to be healthier, drink more water and try to put all those work out clothes I have to good use... so we will see.

Fun and Family is today's topic! And I will say that 2014 should be a fun year...

If you read this blog you know that travel is always on my list... and I don't think it can make as strong of an appearance this year... but that is okay.

However, that being said, in the summer my hubby and I will be visiting or shall we call it "moving" to Louisville, Kentucky for 6 weeks!!! He is in school and will be doing a rotation in the surgery department of the University of Louisville!

We don't have a place to live, a car there nor do we know a single soul in the state. I do need to look into this whole adventure. I posted something on Instagram about it the day we found out and have done nothing since.

Feel free to share any advice or tips. I am sure I will post more about this as I start to search for a place to live and all that fun stuff!

Other than that I would say my goal for 2014 is to be a good support for my husband as he does enter this stressful, but exciting phase in school!!

So there you made it through this post.....

Happy New Year!

  1. I can never seem to keep my resolutions either. It just seems so overwhelming to try to change something that drastic. This year, I decided to make a priority list instead so that I was making sure to remember what's most important rather than putting blogging or work in front of my family and such!

  2. I am sure getting stuck out side was not funny at the time, but I'm sure now that you look back at it, it was a wonderful quiet time to spend together just listening to music. Happy New Year!
