Five for Friday

It's been over 90 degrees this week yet there are still 33 days of school left.

Something is wrong with that. I LOVE the heat... but if it is that hot then I want to be on the sand or in a lounge chair... not at work.

And on top of that it had been strangely windy... not just a strong breeze... no, this is a strong WIND... which we know makes the little ones CRAZY so to say I am glad it is Friday is an understatement!

So let's get started.

1. I have to start with this one because I am so freaking "egg-cited."

It is that time of the year!!!

And for the record I used the whole "egg-cited" pun on my little ones yesterday and they cracked up. One said, "That's a really good one Mrs. Donnelly!"

And that is why I love kindergarten.... they enjoy the little things.

I will be posting about this again...for shizzle... It's my favorite... how can I not? We are on the 21 day countdown until we meet our new fluffy babies!

2. This was Bully Prevention Week at our school. And one activity we did was to listen to our principal read the story One by Kathryn Otoshi.

Have you heard of it?

I hadn't! But it was an awesome story for the younger students.

It would also be a good book to read at the beginning of the year when you are learning rules and behaviors, especially since it covers colors and numbers on top of sending a great message of how to stand together and have a voice! {Spoiler alert: Red is the bully.... can you tell from that illustration?}

You can watch this YouTube clip of the author reading it aloud.

3. I just finished my CVC Vowel Tile. This is just a little short vowel fun...

For this first weekend it is just $1.50 on TpT!!

4. This weekend is also the Facebook Free for all... I am participating with many others who are sending FREEBIES your way.

Start at my Facebook Page and just click the Free For All Tab. After you have grabbed my freebie you can easily click on to the next one!

5. And last up.... Well it may not be the most powerful entry one has seen in a Five for Friday. But tonight I saw a commercial for the Bachelorette!!! And well, I clapped.

In my house ... I clapped. Clearly I am excited about this.

At the same time I am ashamed... why do I watch this stuff? And then just keep watching it?

It starts on May 19th and could Andi be any cuter?  I am thrilled!! And I can't wait to read what my friend Teeny Tiny will have to report!

Happy Weekend!! Hop on over to Doodlebugs Teaching for more Five For Fridays!!

  2. Are your schools air conditioned? I hope so. We have such a hard time teaching in June when it is sweltering and my class is on the third floor. Have an awesome weekend!

  4. I love, love, loved incubating eggs when I worked with kindergarten! It's SO fun! What is not so fun...getting a stinky sad egg you have to throw away. :(
