There is some fun action going on 'round here this week!
A group of bloggers are swapping and sharing {and apparently dropping too! uh oh!} The best part is that there are many giveaways going on....all of those details are at the end of this post.
But before we get to that I want to share with you all about my swapping experience!
I am lucky to be paired up with Deirdre at A Burst of First and am very impressed at both of her products that I used.
First up, her March Math Workshop
Here are some action shots.
This number jig game is excellent practice for recognizing numbers and greater than/ less than.....
The little ones draw two cards to create their own 2 digit number and compare it to their partner's number. If their number is greater they can color in a square. {I also had them write the numeral in the box because we are having a little trouble writing numbers too}
While some little ones were playing the game as it is designed- I modified it for some of my other little ones and we just played the same game with those tricky teen numbers...which are causing grief for a handful of my cuties and in turn that is grief for me!
I love when I have a game that they can ALL play, but it is still differentiated to meet each one's needs.
I also love how Deirdre gave the jig dancers names because my kids loved that. Next thing you knew everyone in our class had either "Dancer" or "Mover" added to their name just like Declan and Molly!
I apologize the picture below is blurry... but that is because they are so excited and crazy over these picture cards that it was hard to get a still shot....not kidding.... They think this is playing...and well, we are tallying and counting and covering all kinds of skills.
This pack comes with three different picture cards.
Plus, they can also graph their findings after tallying 'em up1

My kids were so excited to play this that they wanted more.... and I didn't have time to print and laminate the other picture cards...so I did an experiment:
Yep, picture on the SmartBoard....great for my color ink savings.... but obviously, a little tricky for them, but it became a working together to solve activity and they did it. I had them take turns walking up to the SmartBoard and pointing to help everyone in their group.
Next week we will be doing picture card C!

What teacher doesn't like a game with a built in spinner? Super simple prep!
And although the Magical Minuses game above was only for some of my little ones who are ready for that.... the 'Tis Ten game {below} was a great introduction to adding ten for everyone.
And just to clarify... my class is kindergarten and subtracting {and adding} ten to a number is a first grade CC standard. This pack is technically for first... but as you have seen most of the activities are spot on for kinder standards as well. And in this case it was awesome to have a little extra challenge for those who are ready for it.
I could go on and on about this.... and here is the best part...Deirdre has these little math kits for every month...actually... not quite every month YET.... let me explain....
Currently she has the Math Workshop sets for September through March for $35.... and as the last months of the school year approach she will be adding to this bundle so by June it will be complete with 10 packs.....each with 10 print and go activities!
In June it will be $50..... BUT if you get it now for just $35 you will be able to download every single new monthly math workshop set since you will already own it!! Um, do the math... that is $3.50 per math pack. If you wait until June you will pay $50 and it will be $5 per pack.
Snag that here:
Next up....
This is the perfect time of year in kindergarten to introduce the tricky digraphs. And so introduce them I did.
I love how this pack engages them by being interactive....
I am in love with the trash picture this young lady drew below and she told me, "That is a banana peel hanging out because the trash is full."
And as I was about to share more pictures I thought....simmer down Christy this post is long enough!
So I am stopping, but I have to say that I love that this digraph pack had activity pages for each digraph {sh, ch, th, wh} on its own and then pages that combine them all.... like this one:
Okay that was the last picture, but can I say that spin game was a hit because they get to use 2 spinners! OMG! 2 spinners.....lucky kiddos! They were in heaven.
